Martin Smith represents District 7, which includes: Brighton City Precincts 1-4 and Brighton Charter Township Precincts 1, 3-5, 7-9.
Commissioner Smith was appointed by the Livingston County Board of Commissioners to complete the 2021-2022 term and subsequently elected to serve the current 2023-2024 term.
Commissioner Smith serves as the Vice-Chairman of the General Government and Health & Human Services Committee and as a member of the Personnel and Finance / Asset Management Committees. Commissioner Smith also serves on the Michigan Counties Workers' Compensation Fund Board and as an alternate member of the South East Michigan Council of Governments.
