Livingston County Clerk
The Livingston County Clerk is the official "keeper of the records," responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, retrieval and safeguarding of public records -- including Circuit Court legal documents; registration for small businesses; notaries; military discharge forms; license applications to carry concealed pistols; and all records relating to birth, death and marriage occurring in Livingston County. County Clerks keep the life events of the community, such as records of births, deaths and marriages.
The Clerk also acts as Clerk to all official Livingston County boards, including the Board of Commissioners and Election Commission.
The
Election Division is responsible for the coordination of all elections in Livingston County. This includes all related procedures from the filing of nominating petitions to ballot production and the accumulation of vote totals.
The County Clerk is the clerk of the Circuit Court and family court. This division is responsible for accepting, docketing, executing, filing and duplicating circuit court pleadings; scheduling, maintaining, and generating motion hearing dockets.
