Veterans Id Cards

Veteran's ID card sampleThe Livingston County Clerk's Office issues Veteran Identification cards.

Veterans may get a card by visiting the County Clerk's Office in the historical Courthouse.

You must bring:

  • Military Discharge Papers (DD-214 or its official replacement)
  • Photo Identification (such as Michigan Driver's license or State ID card)
  • $10 fee, cash or check.  Credit/debit cards incur a service fee
Many businesses offer Veterans a discount as a way to express gratitude for their service to our country.  However, the Veteran must be able to show proof.  Veterans are given military discharge certificates, or "DD-214" forms.

The Clerk's staff will take the Veteran's photograph and obtain their electronic signature.  The Veteran photo identification card is available to Livingston County residents only and is the same size as the driver's license or state ID card.
