I am acutely aware of the emotional and financial impact on people involved in litigation. As your judge, my responsibility is to ensure that cases are resolved efficiently and effectively while ensuring rights are protected. Procedures to achieve these goals have been implemented. Judges are public servants and we continuously strive to improve the justice system. Your Livingston County Judges have worked together to address issues regarding the distribution of the workload. Specialty courts have been created to address specific needs in our community, such as a mental health court and a drug court. Serious issues such as mental illness, substance abuse and domestic violence are being addressed using innovative processes.
