Appeal Information

Claim of Appeal:   MCR 7.103 (A) appeal final decisions of: district court, local and state agencies, and some probate decisions.
 
Application For Leave to Appeal:  MCR 7.103(B) appeals where no right of appeal exists, appeals not timely filed, appeals of a decision of the Michigan Parole Board, interlocutory appeal; appeal of a provisional order or agency decision.        
 
There are many different types of appeals and different rules that apply to each type of appeal. Appeal Forms:  http://courts.mi.gov/Administration/SCAO/Forms/Pages/Appeals.aspx -and- are available at the Clerks Office for a $1.00 fee.  You must know what form you want.  *please note there may not be a SCAO approved form for every circumstance.
 
Filing Fee: $ 150.00 Claim of Appeal  -or- Application For Leave to Appeal (MCR 7.105(B)(7),
Note: no fee for appeals from MI. Employment Security Board.
 
Transcripts:  your request for a transcript goes to the lower court (trial court), or agency.
