Livingston County EMS provides both 911 Emergency Medical Services and non-emergency transportation services throughout the county's 584 square miles, which includes 48 miles of highway, 16 townships, 2 cities, 2 villages, and a population of 193,866.

Livingston County EMS employs staff that share one singular focus: a relentless commitment to continually improving patient care. You would be hard pressed to take a drive around Livingston County without passing multiple Livingston County ambulances. Generally speaking, Livingston County deploys between 6 and 10 ambulances in the county at any one time, dependent upon the time of day and historically projected call volume. Ambulances are strategically located throughout Livingston County to provide optimal coverage and allow for the quickest response times.
 
As call volume increases, ambulances are re-deployed to increase coverage accordingly. The goal is to ensure that at any given moment, an EMS Paramedic unit can reach every address within Livingston County as quickly and efficiently as possible after receiving a call from our county 9-1-1 dispatch center.

Along with Livingston County Administration, the Livingston County Board of Commissioners is also responsible for overseeing and evaluating Livingston County EMS's function, not limited to; facilitating the adequate and full implementation and administration of Board policies affecting the department, and agency.
