Livingston County EMS offers a number of services to the residents and visitors of Livingston County. Everyone knows that we respond to road accidents, and other emergency calls from homes and businesses when you call 911, but you may be surprised to know that we do a few other things too.
Livingston County EMS is able to provide speakers and demonstrations for your businesses, civic organizations, schools or private groups, tailored to fit your needs.
In conjunction with various members of the public safety community, we respond to requests for service for special response teams. These responses can be local, regional or national. Uniquely trained paramedics support our national disaster response team, and Livingston County Dive, Tactical and HazMat teams. For example, our national disaster response team responded to Hurricanes Rita and Sandy.
Besides the above services, we transport patients between health care facilities whether it be a hospital or trauma center, nursing home, or hospice.
When patients become too sick for our normal Advanced Life Support (ALS) services our Mobile Intensive Care Unit takes over. Our MICU trained paramedics have been trained by the University of Maryland Baltimore’s Critical Care Paramedic program. When not providing transportation services for the acutely ill patients they bring their expertise to the scenes of some of our most serious incidents.
