COVID-19 Vaccination Scheduling

COVID-19 Vaccination Scheduling

Updates:

Livingston County Health Department (LCHD) is now scheduling free Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages 5-11. This announcement follows the recent FDA authorization and CDC recommendation of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination for children in this age group. The COVID-19 vaccine is widely available locally, and parents or guardians should go wherever works best for their family. COVID-19 vaccines are available from local primary care providers, pharmacies, and pediatrician offices. LCHD recommends individuals use www.vaccines.gov to find a convenient vaccination location.

Everyone over the age of 18 is now eligible for a COVID-19 booster dose. Learn more. Schedule an appointment below or find other vacicnation opportunities near you by visiting www.vaccines.gov.

 Booster Doses

There are now booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States. Everyone ages 18+ is now eligible for a COVID-19 booster. Click here to learn more.

For individuals over the age of 18 who received an mRNA (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) COVID-19 primary vaccine, you may get a booster shot at six months or more after your initial series.

People over age 18 who received a single dose of the J&J (Janssen) vaccine may receive a booster dose two or more months after completing their primary series.

Livingston County Health Department is now offering booster doses to people who meet the criteria above by appointment only. You must bring a record of your previous COVID-19 immunizations with you to the appointment.

 Additional (Third) Doses

Additional doses for moderately to severely immunocompromised people:
Currently, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization practices (ACIP) recommends a third dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine for certain immunocompromised individuals. This includes people who have:
  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection
  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response
We recommend individuals talk to their healthcare provider about their medical condition, and whether getting an additional dose is appropriate for them.

Livingston County Health Department is now offering additional (third) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to people who meet the criteria above by appointment only. Please bring your COVID-19 immunization card to the appointment.
  • To schedule a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine, please use one of the scheduling links above.
  • To schedule a third dose of the Moderna vaccine, visit https://www.vaccines.gov/search/.
