The
Livingston County Health Department is committed to assisting the
breastfeeding mothers in our community through a variety of ways.
A
state of Michigan program designed to provide early identification and
advocacy for children with eligible medical conditions as well as
assistance with medical costs.
Healthy habits to lower your risk of or manage chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, or cancer.
A Public Health Nurse is
available by telephone to answer questions about communicable diseases
and sexually transmitted infections. To report serious communicable
disease outbreaks or issues, call (517) 546-9850, 24 hours daily.
The
LCHD assists individuals and families who are income eligible obtain
health insurance through plans such as the Healthy Michigan Plan,
MIChild, Healthy Kids, and MOMS. LCHD can also assist with referrals to
LCHD programs and medical providers.
This
program offers hearing screening for children from 3 years old to age
21 and vision screening from 3 years old to age 21. Free screenings are
conducted in public, private and charter schools, and by appointment at
the Health Department.
Free, rapid HIV testing by appointment. Results are available in 20 minutes.
Immunizations are available by appointment only. LCHD offers all childhood immunizations, and many immunizations for adults. TB skin tests are done by appointment only. There is a charge for Immunization and TB testing services. Seasonal Influenza Information.

Public Health Nurse is available to assist with your concerns about
lead poisoning. Please call for resources, questions or case management

A
home visit from a Public Health Nurse is offered to all parents of
newborns to provide information about infant nutrition, growth and
development, and safety; community resources and referrals; and
information about car seat safety by appointment.

Women,
Infants and Children Nutrition Education and Supplemental Food Program
provides nutritious foods to pregnant women, women up to 6 months post
partum, breastfeeding women up to 1 year, infant, and children up to 5
years of age who are income eligible, call the WIC office at (517)
