Livingston Leadership Council on Aging
The Livingston Leadership Council on Aging was established in 2008 in direct response to the 2008 Senior Needs Assessment. The Livingston County Board of Commissioners felt it was important to keep the needs of our county's seniors at the table for county-wide discussions. They appointed members to sit on this Council. LLCOA became a sister collaborative to the HSCB.
Develop a plan and ongoing strategies to meet the needs of the older adult population in Livingston County.
1. Assess current senior services in the county including developing a list of services and assessing effectiveness
2. Identify gaps and needs in senior services
3. Develop short (1-5 years) and long (6-20 years) term strategies to address the gaps/needs
4. Develop a work plan to further explain the strategies which includes possible funding mechanisms, time frames for completion, and key stakeholders

Success of the LLCOA depends upon the ongoing commitment of Livingston County organizations, officials, businesses, local governments and residents. This commitment is shown in the appointments of two year terms with many of our partners choosing to reapply for their spots. This dedication is why this workgroup continues to be motivated and successful.
