Why does Livingston County require vendors to carry insurance?,

Insurance requirements and hold harmless agreements add protection for the County and are intended to verify the financial responsibility of vendors/contractors  Additionally, they protect the public from injuries or damages arising out of the negligence of vendors/contractors,  the assets of the County and the interest of its employees resulting from such negligence of vendors/contractors. Insurance requirements are included in all solicitations at the advisement and approval of the Risk Management Officer.

Are there fees associated with registering with MITN?,

Registering with MITN is free. Vendors that would like to have access to bid opportunities from all participating agencies have two options:

Option 1.)

E-mail Notification: E-mail notification gives vendors numerous advantages to ensure they do not miss new bid opportunities that match their line of business. A few key advantages included with e-mail notification are:

  • Instant notification of addendums to bids you are notified of.

  • Ability to copy up to 6 contacts with each message you match with.

  • Instant noti
  • Instant notification of bids that match your profile.
  • fication when awards are made to bids you respond to.

  • Access to all awards for bids on the system.

  • Includes notification from all participating agencies (even new ones that join in the future).

Option 2.)

No Notification: This option gives vendors access to search for documents of interest at no charge, but requires them to remember to login frequently to ensure they catch opportunities before they close. Key responsibilities associated with this option are:

  • Vendors are responsible to login and search for formal bids and RFP's of interest.

  • Vendors are responsible to login and search for non formal bids (i.e., quotes) of interest.

  • Vendors are responsible to login and locate addendums to any opportunity you decide to respond to.

  • Vendors are responsible to login and search for award information of interest.

  • Buyers prefer vendors to choose e-mail notification so they see all companies that match.

  • Vendors are not notified of any type of information from any participating agency.

Registration Instructions for Accessing Solicitations on the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN)

  • Open Google Chrome.

  • Go to www.MITN.info.

  • Click on "Register" blue button at the left middle of the window.

"Sign Up" as a Vendor:

  • From the Vendor Registration window (instructions above), Complete the Vendor Registration form.

  • At the Bottom of Vendor Registration window click on "Continue Registration".

Configuration:

  • Complete the "Configuration" questions.

  • At the bottom of the form click on "Continue Registration".

Selection Codes:

  • Select codes for every product or service that your business provides

  • When selection is completed click on "Continue Registration" found at the bottom of the page.

Account Activation:

For Paid Registration ($89.95 for 1 year, $149.95 for 2 years)

  • Complete the subscription type (1year or 2 years), credit card information and agree to the Terms & Conditions.

  • Next click on "Continue Registration at the bottom of the page.

For Search Registration (Free)

  • Click on the blue "Search Registration" blue button located at the left middle of the window.

  • Click on the gray "Register" button at the bottom of the window. (Be sure to select the Gray button as the Blue button will take you back to the Paid Registration area).

  • Note: Search registration takes 24 hours.

  • Click on the Gray "Search Only Registration" button (Be sure to select the Gray button as the Blue button will take you back to the Paid Registration area)

  • Click on the box next to the "I am aware of the limitations and assume full responsibility…..

  • Click on the box next to "I agree to the Terms and conditions…

  • Click on the "Click on the Gray "Search Only Registration" button (Be sure to select the Gray button as the Blue button will take you back to the Paid Registration area).

  • The next window "Vendor Registration- Search Only Access.  Thank you for registering.
