Am I eligible for transportation?,

All honorably discharged veterans and spouses residing within Livingston County are eligible for our transportation services.  A copy of the veteran's DD214 or VA medical card and identification will need to be on file with LCVS.

Where can I go?,

Transportation is for medical appointments within a 50-mile radius of LCVS and for rides to and from our office for a scheduled appointment with a benefits counselor.

What are your hours of operation?,

Please make appointments no earlier than 7:30 a.m. and no later than 2:30 p.m. to allow time for the appointment and time to transport you back home. Transportation does not run on weekends or County holidays and may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

How do I schedule transportation?,

You MUST call 517-546-6600 and select option 3 to schedule transportation. No same day reservations. You may schedule a ride as early as 30 days prior to a scheduled appointment and no later than 48 hours in advance.

Please note drivers DO NOT schedule.  If you tell the driver you need transportation but don't call LETS, you will not be picked up.

Where are your pick up and drop off locations?,

We are a door to door service.  Our drivers will pick you up from the address given when transportation is scheduled.  You may also opt to be picked up in our office parking lot.

What should I expect when I ride with Veteran Services?,

We have AMAZING drivers, Jon, Tom and Tony.  When riding with us you can expect compassionate, patient and respectful service.  They work hard to keep wait times down to a minimum.  You can expect an automated call the night before your appointment to confirm your ride.  Please let the drivers know of multiple appointments or any special accommodations that may be needed at the time of pick up.  They often have multiple pick ups so we request veterans be ready and waiting on the agreed upon time.  To assure everyone makes it to their appointments on time, the van will wait up to 5 minutes for a passenger before leaving.  There may be a wait period before or after your appointment time to accommodate other passengers.

What else do I need to know?,

LCVS LETS Partnership Transportation Policy.docx

Do I have any alternative transportation options?,
